Onsite Massage: Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) Directory

Photo: Chair Massage

This is a directory listing of Canadian Registered Massage Therapists who perform onsite massage therapy, either table or chair massage. If you are looking to hire an RMT who specializes in this area, please browse our list of practitioners, or choose the closest city from the drop down option below.

Chair massage requires less space than onsite table massage, and since it is performed fully clothed, it needs no special or dedicated area in your workspace specifically for treatment. It is performed without oils, so changing clothing is unnecessary. Find more information about chair massage in the chair massage section of the site.

On site table massage therapy requires that you have space to set aside for treatment. It is better suited to more intensive therapeutic treatments for longer sessions (at least a half-hour).

In addition to providing a deeper level of relaxation and stress relief, table massage is particularly suited to those who have experienced trauma, injury, or illness. On site table massage therapists are often brought into nursing homes, hospitals, and long term care facilities for precisely this reason.

Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and Long Term Care Facilities

Studies have shown that touch therapy is important to the general health and wellbeing of individuals, particularly helpful with depression and emotional stress. Massage therapy aids the body's natural healing systems.

On site table massage can be performed using the adjustable beds in the facilities. An RMT has undergone a minimum of 2200 hours of training and has a thorough knowledge of anatomy. He or she and will adjust the treatment so that it is suitable for elderly or injured patients.

Workplaces

Most absenteeism can be traced to stress-related illnesses. Setting aside space and time for treatments says to your employees that this is a company who cares about their health and wellbeing. On site table massage is relaxing, therapeutic, and preventative.

All kinds of workers can benefit from massage therapy: particularly those at risk from Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI). RSI is a category of injuries caused by small repeated movements. These wear on the soft tissues much in the same way overexerting by lifting heavy object.

There is a reason why on site massage is so common on film sets: being relaxed helps people concentrate better and deliver a peak performance. Who in your organization couldn't benefit from that?

From the CEO, through the administrative teams, to the factory workers: on site massage therapy is more than a perk. It can be a vital component of your workplace wellness program, and, when performed by a Registered Massage Therapist, is covered under many extended health care insurance plans and benefits packages.
